Supplements

Supplements are intended to provide nutrients that are not consumed through diet. For most people even the most structured diets do not provide their bodies with enough vitamins, minerals, fiber, fatty acids, or amino acids. There are over 50,000 supplements available in the United States but which ones are the best or the correct one’s for you? And more importantly which ones are the safest. Too much Vitamin E has shown a link to prostate cancer in men and did you know Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble which means you can become toxic if you are taking too much? Meeting with a physician and finding out exactly what your body needs could save your life and save you from spending money on supplements you do not need. LifeMed Institute carries a full line of customized medical grade vitamins and supplements (what is medical grade? read below).

What are medical grade vitamins and supplements

Food grade or commonly called store grade supplements (which are carried at grocery stores, drug stores and even at specialty vitamin and nutritional stores) only have to contain 20% of what they state on the bottle. They may contain all of the ingredients in a batch but not per capsule so you really don’t know what you are taking. For example a 500mg Vitamin C only has to contain 100mg of Vitamin C. Whereas pharmaceutical grade supplements must meet USP or the United States Pharmacopeia standards and they require our supplements contain in excess of 99% of the ingredients stated. In addition, pharmaceutical grade supplements are held to a higher standard of processing and sanitary production conditions than food grade supplements.

HGH – Human Growth Hormone/GHRH

shutterstock_245312869

HGH – Human Growth Hormone has been shown to repair and rejuvenate cells as well as stimulate growth. HGH is a by-product of your pituitary gland but as you age the hormones produced by the anterior pituitary decrease. HGH replacement has some questionable and long term risks to its use, including the risk of dramatically shutting down your pituitary glands production of hormones; this is among one of the reasons HGH is heavily regulated by the FDA. The good news is that with the use of Sermorelin you can increase your body’s natural production of HGH and when dosed correctly you can reap the same benefits of HGH without aging your pituitary gland. Sermorelin has recently been engineered to stimulate the secretion of Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH). With GHRP 2 and 6 added into the Sermorelin the benefits are like adding nitrous to gasoline, it can potentiate the benefits of Sermorelin therapy even further. Sermorelin with GHRP 2 and 6 has been shown to elevate levels of IGF-1 with a natural pulsing mechanism and patients have reported:

  • More energy, stamina and vitality
  • Increased strength and endurance
  • Accelerated healing from wounds or surgery
  • Strengthened immune system
  • Improved deep sleep and sleep quality and more.
  • Improved skin tone and texture
  • Reduced body fat through increased lipolysis (can prevent liver uptake of glucose)

Glutathione

Some say it’s the most important molecule you need to stay healthy and prevent disease; that it’s the secret to help prevent aging, cancer, heart disease, dementia and more; yet you’ve probably never heard of it. There are more than 89,000 medical articles about it, so what is it? It’s the mother of all antioxidants, the master detoxifier and maestro of the immune system: Glutathione. The good news is that your body produces its own glutathione. The bad news is that poor diet, pollution, toxins, medications, stress, trauma, aging, infections and radiation all deplete your glutathione levels. This leaves you susceptible to unrestrained cell disintegration from oxidative stress, free radicals, infections and cancer. Your liver gets overloaded and damaged, making it unable to do its job of detoxification. Glutathione is also critical in helping your immune system fight infections and prevent cancer. Glutathione is one of the most critical and integral parts of your detoxification system. Toxins stick to Glutathione which then carries them into the bile and out of your body. Lastly, it can also help us reach peak mental and physical function. Research has shown that raised glutathione levels decrease muscle damage, reduce recovery time, increase strength and endurance and shift metabolism from fat production to muscle development. However, this antioxidant cannot be effectively taken orally as it is broken down by your stomach acids; ask us how to start a Glutathione supplement that works!

GAC

GAC – An Amino Acid Power House

Injectable Amino Acids GAC (L-Glutamine, L-Arginine and L-Carnitine combination):

L-Glutamine is an important amino acid in cell recovery and tissue healing it is typically used in the medical field for aiding the healing of wounds and burns as well as damage in the intestines by IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and Crohn’s disease. It also plays a role in muscle building, protein synthesis, cellular energy and nitrogen donation for many metabolic processes.

L-Arginine has several benefits, it has been shown to increase sexual performance (as it is a vasodilator with a mechanism similar to Viagra), it stimulates the secretion of growth hormone, reduces healing time of injuries and damaged tissue, decreases blood pressure and with L-Lysine has been shown to help control anxiety. For those who live active lifestyles and are working to improve their physique taking L-Arginine can be very beneficial as it is a precursor to Nitric Oxide which with vasodilatation helps to improve muscle recovery and cell healing for increased physical performance and exercise recovery.

L-Carnitine is a very important amino acid used by the body to breakdown fat for energy. It is produced in the liver and kidneys and stored in the skeletal muscles. The amount of L-Carnitine one would have to ingest to be effective to burn fat and increase energy would cause an upset stomach which is why injecting this amino acid is highly effective. Additionally, Carnitine can increase androgen receptors ability to increase the efficiency of Testosterone therapy and other androgens.

What’s The Big Deal with D?

old-couple-exercise

Many people believe an active lifestyle that includes time in the sun and a diet that includes items fortified with Vitamin D means they can’t be deficient. This unfortunately is not true. Known as the “sunshine vitamin”, Vitamin D is produced by the body in response to sunlight. It also occurs naturally in a few foods – including some fish, fish liver oils, and egg yolks and in fortified dairy and grain products. Traditionally, Vitamin D is known as being essential for strong bones because it helps the body use calcium from the diet. But increasingly, research is revealing the importance of vitamin D in protecting against a host of health problems, low levels of Vitamin D has been associated with:

  • Cancer
  • Depression
  • Severe Asthma
  • Cognitive Impairment
  • Higher Risk of Diabetes & Insulin Resistance
  • Increased Risk of Death from Cardiovascular Disease
